William Jewell College debate team wins national championship, multiple top speaker awards

On the weekend of March 21 to March 23, the William Jewell College debate squad won the National Parliamentary Debate Association National Championship Tournament held in Flagstaff, Ariz., at Northern Arizona University. William Jewell, which brought five competing teams to the tournament, defeated 52 other schools from across the country, including the University of California, Berkeley, University of Oregon, University of Missouri and Loyola University Chicago.

  • New traveling exhibit in Curry documents struggle for civil rights

    “For All the World to See: Visual Culture and the Struggle for Civil Rights,” a nationally touring exhibition sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities, opened April 7 at William Jewell College. The exhibit will be open in Curry Gallery Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., through May 23.


  • Scheer joins Office of Admission and prepares for Class of 2018

    At this point in the semester, members of the class of 2014 are beginning to think about life after graduation. In the Office of Admission, however, the staff is preparing to welcome the class of 2018, a group who is beginning to think about the four years preceding their college graduation.
