In Memoriam: Kristi Knecht

Knecht served as adjunct instructor of string bass at William Jewell College as well as Principal Bass of the Liberty Symphony Orchestra from 2006 until her retirement in May 2011.  She attracted many fine bassists to William Jewell and was a dedicated colleague to both organizations.

She became an inspiration not only to her William Jewell bass students, but also to all of the young cellists, bassists and
chamber-music groups she taught during her career.  Knecht was passionate for music-making and touched many lives with her talent.  A memorial service is planned.
