Swimming Update 12/2/11

The Cardinals lost their most recent meet against Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla., falling 75-38 in the men’s dual and 69-48 in the women’s. OBU won all but one event on the day. The lone Cardinals win came in the women’s 200-meter individual medley with Maggie Metz, first-year, who won with a time of 2:32:19 over two OBU swimmers and Ashley Johnson, first-year.

This weekend, the Cardinals head to Grinnell, Iowa to participate in the Pioneer Invitational at Grinnell College. It will be held at the Charles Benson Bear ’39 Recreation and Athletic Center in the Natatorium on the campus of Grinnell. It is a two- day meet, starting tonight at 6 p.m. and then continues tomorrow at 10 a.m. This is the Cardinals final meet before winter break, where they will have over a month off from competition. They pick things back up on Jan. 20 where they will travel to Springfield, Mo. to take on Missouri State University at the Hammons Student Center. The meet will begin at 4 p.m. for the Bears and the Cardinals.
